Basically, bats are hunted in the wild and then sold as taxidermied specimens or skeletons (which may then be made into diverse objects, including hair barrettes, but especially, are mounted in frames).

Bats get hammered from all sides! At least nobody’s going out mounting bobcat and mountain lion skeletons. Well at least currently …. That I know of…. But don’t be a wolf these days.
